AMRITSAR: Two alleged suspects accused of a grenade attack on a Nirankari gathering at Adliwal village near Raja Sansi, were today produced at Court in Ajnala amongst a heavy Police presence.
Bikramjit Singh was arrested by the police in this case on November 19 while Avtar Singh Khalsa was arrested on November 24.The Judicial Magistrate directed that both accused be sent to judicial custody for fourteen days.
Three Nirankaris were killed and twenty others sustained injuries after a grenade was thrown at the Nirnakari bathering in Adliwal village by motorcycle borne assailants on November 18.
The attack was followed by the widespread arrest and harassment of Sikh youths as well as senior police and politicians alleging the involvement of Pakistan based individuals in the attack and attempts to cause disharmony in the state.
