NEW YORK: Instagram ‘comedian’ Jess Hilarious has come under widespread international criticism after allegedly getting four turban wearing Sikh men removed from a flight Saturday for making her “nervous.”

In a series of since deleted videos and posts, she said that she felt “threatened” after she saw four Sikh men wearing turbans board the same plane as her and showcased relief after they were removed from her flight.

In attempts to defend her statements, the star of the Fox network series Rel stated:

“F*** y’all, I feel how I feel. I felt threatened and that was it. F*** y’all.”

“N****s know I’m never f****** racist, but I spotted something and I put it out earlier and we just got evacuated from our plane,” she said, while claiming there was “no reason” given for the evacuation. She later posted a video in which she said she boarded the plane again and the four Sikh men were nowhere to be seen. “So how ironic is it that we boarded the same plane and don’t see those people,” she said.

She posted a statement on her Instagram story, half-apologising for her comments. “Look y’all I’m not racist and never have I ever been,” she claimed. “We have Muslims in my family however I was totally unaware of the different types of Muslim so yes I admit I’m ignorant to the facts so teach me. I got no one put off the f*****’ plane… I didn’t even say shit to anyone else on the f*****’ plane about how I felt! Again I’m sorry to ALL Muslims… deeply sorry! But I am not a racist loves.”

Whilst people across the world have commented on the shocking behaviour exhibited by the Instagram star, the fact that the airline appear to have removed the Sikh men on the basis ignorance of a passenger has again raised concerns amongst Sikhs of racial profiling at US airports.

Furthermore, the misplaced Islamphobic actions come just days after at least 50 people were killed in a terrorist attack on two mosques in New Zealand’s Christchurch.
